George Steinbrenner
July 12, 2010 - Bronx, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - epa02247395 A sign commemorating the death of Yankees owner George Steinbrenner is seen outside of Yankees Stadium in the Bronx, New York, USA, on 13 July 2010. Steinbrenner died of a heart attack this morning in Tampa, Florida at the age of 80.
George Steinbrenner had a win at all cost attitude which turned the New York Yankees into the Empire they are today. Steinbrenner, who had just turned 80 years old on July 4th, suffered a major heart attack and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. The Boss died at about 6:30AM. In almost 40 years as the Yankee owner, Steinbrenner's team won seven World Series titles, 11 American League pennants, and 16 AL East titles.  While his passion for winning sometimes turned him into Enemy #1 for members of the baseball community both inside and outside the Yankees, he will certainly be remembered for the impact he had on the game of baseball.
